Road to the Oscars - the final stretch

This past weekend, the Film Independent Spirit Awards and the SAG Awards wrapped up the final big shows before the Oscars. Usually, by now, we have a clear idea of who will take home the big prizes—but this year? Anything could happen.

Berlin Film Festival Ends

China’s animated film, “Ne Zha 2,” is making records

A new animation record has been set!

Ne Zha 2 has officially become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, surpassing Inside Out 2. This milestone marks a huge moment for animated films, proving that global storytelling continues to break records and captivate audiences worldwide.

“The films draw heavily from characters and storylines in The Investiture of the Gods, a 16th-century Chinese novel that compiles a series of folklore, myths, and legends.

“As Ne Zha 2’s plotline explains, ‘After the heavenly lightning, although Ne Zha and Ao Bing survived by becoming Spirits, they would soon dissipate completely. Taiyi plans to rebuild Ne Zha and Ao Bing’s mortal bodies with the Seven-colored Precious Lotus. However, during the process of reconstruction, numerous obstacles arise. What will become of the fate of Ne Zha and Ao Bing?’”

Ne Zha 2 is now out in theaters in the US.
